Continued Investment In New Machinery

Staff Training On New Machine

Allspeeds have once again showed its dedication to improving productivity by investing in the new DOOSAN PUMA 3100LM.

A high demand for products meant that investment was needed in new machinery to help productivity. Allspeeds recently invested in the new Puma 3100LM to replace the Nakamura Tome TMC35; this will effectively improve lead times on the larger components and improve reliability.

Each product can benefit from the machine as it has many capabilities such as:

  • It can hard turn large diameter variator rings
  • Bore deep cylinders
  • 15inch chuck capacity meaning more stability and rigidity.
  • Live tooling, (mill and drill in cycle)
  • Bore and burnish the long jack cylinders
  • Screw cut long barrel tubes up to 4inches in diameter
  • Produce threads on the end of Millingford plungers
  • And many more.

Overall the new Puma will make our manufacturing process more efficient and will improve quality. Keith Elliot (Engineering Director) said that the machine “is a big improvement” and “our workforce productivity for larger components will be vastly improved”.
